Shilin Cutters knives are handmade by a family member of the Chiu family. The history of these knives began their legacy in 19th Century China and were taught to a select few. Some of these makers migrated to Taiwan where they continued to produce these infamous knives. As time progressed, many of these makers ceased production and only two families in Taipei have been making these in recent times. Today, the doors of the house of Chiu are currently closed and it is unknown if they will reopen.

“My knife designs are obviously with the Nordic lines and feel. A clean functional almost minimalistic expression. All about the function of the tool”.
